Continuation...
I decided to follow my church's doctrine and walked out of the relationship before things got any worse or out of hands.
Today I am happier, though the 'battle' is just beginning. I know I will have to answer a lot of questions from a lot of people, the shame it will come with, the need to stay away from people and places but which I will be unable to do, and the list goes on and on. The day I packed my bags, I decided that I would face all this head on, and in a few months it will all be in the past and I will have my whole life ahead of me.
In all of this, I have learned a few things:
Always listen to your heart and learn to follow it. You will hardly go wrong if you do.
Do not neglect family for they will be your rock in times of trial.
Being kind is a good thing, but when it comes to your welfare, nothing compares.
Always pray, and when you do, believe.
I thank my God who has always helped me every step of the way. I know he will give me strength for each new day to win this brewing battle.
